Helene M. Snyder, J.D. is an attorney with a background in both private practice and public interest law, including two years as a guardian ad litem representing children in abuse and neglect proceedings in the Juvenile Court of Cook County, Illinois.  Her area of practice includes the representation of children and parents in abuse and neglect, custody and visitation cases.  Since 1992, Ms. Snyder has taught classes on law and social work both at the University of Chicago school of Social Service Administration and in the Graduate School of Social Work at Loyola University Chicago, where she is an adjunct professor.  Ms. Snyder has published articles on effective legal representation of children in custody and visitation proceedings for the Chicago Bar Association and American Bar Association.
