Gary Unruh is one of those unique people. Remarkably able to bridge two worlds: the world of clinical practice and the world of business. On the clinical side, having received his MSW from the University of Nebraska and qualifying as a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, he is in private practice in Colorado Springs, Co. He is also CEO of Choice Health, a specialty mental health and chemical dependency PPO which is a provider for the HMO program of the state of Colorado. On the business side, he served as chair of the Clinical Social Work Federation’s Licensure and Vendorship Committee for 10 years, served on the Board and negotiation team of the National Registry of Health Care Providers in Clinical Social Work, and was the Marketing Director for the National Institutes for Clinical Social Work Advancement. Mr. Unruh has developed a process for measuring outcomes in mental health and chemical dependency delivery utilizing Total Quality Management, which is an application of Japanese management techniques.
