Cynthia Monahon, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and founding Director of the Children''s Clinic of the Cutchins Programs in Northampton, MA. where she also consults in private practice.  Dr. Monahon has specialized in the treatment of pediatric psychological trauma and is the author of, Children and Trauma; A Guide for Parents and Professionals.  Cynthia and the staff at the Children''s Clinic have a strong interest in the long-term clinical needs of psychologically vulnerable children and their caretakers, particularly those children who have experienced abuse and neglect in the first three years of life.  She lectures frequently on childhood trauma and child psychopathology and has frequently taught classes for continuing education at the Smith College School for Social Work.  Dr. Monahon is the 2001 recipient of the Champion for Children award from the Northwestern District Attorney''s Office.
