Marcia Spira, Ph.D., is an associate professor at Loyola University, Chicago School of Social Work. She directs the concentration in clinical practice in health care in the social work program at Loyola. She is currently engaged in research on the intergenerational family meeting the challenges of having older members in declining health. She is awaiting the publication of, Voices of Three Generations: Families Caring for Members in Declining Health. It is to appear in, Families in Society, in a future issue. Another recent publication is an article co-authored with Ellen Kenemore, entitled: Cancer as a Life Transition: A Relational Approach to Cancer Wellness in Women. This article can be found in the Clinical Social Work Journal, Vol. 30, No. 2, 2002.
