Roberta Shechter received her doctorate in social work from Yeshiva University. She has been the book reviewer for the Journal of Analytic Social Work and President of the Post Graduate Psychoanalytic Society, supervisor at the Psychoanalytic Institute, Postgraduate Center for Mental Health, faculty and training analyst at the Washington Square Institute, and adjunct assistant professor at Hunter College School for Social Work and CCNY. She is a certified psychoanalyst who received her analytic training at The Postgraduate Center for Mental Health. She has numerous publications in the area of clinical psychoanalysis on a variety of topics: termination; cross-cultural therapy; structural repair; and supervision of the analytic process.
